Thieves Take $21K Worth Of Brass Plugs
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – Two brass thieves who are being sought made away with 45 brass plugs worth more than $21,000 last month, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
The brass plugs were stolen sometime overnight Aug. 29 from Vac-Con, located in the 900 block of Hall Park Road in Green Cove Springs.
An inventory specialist reported the burglary the next day to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
Surveillance video showed two men in dark clothing entering an open fence on the northwest side of Vac-Con's building, deputies said. The thieves removed the brass plugs from a metal stand at the rear of the storage area and carried them out in a container, deputies said.
