Police Find Stolen Car Of Florist Shot At Business

PALATKA, Fla. – A man named a person of interest in the shooting of a Palatka businessman turned himself in to police Saturday.

Police said that their questioning of Robert Williams, 20, of Pomona Park, led to the recovery of a vehicle stolen from 32-year-old Louis Howell III, a florist who was shot several times at his business Thursday night.

Police said the car had been abandoned in Daytona.

Williams was arrested on grand theft charges and booked into the Putnam County Jail. Police said further charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Howell was listed in critical condition on Friday.

Police said they found evidence of a struggle and evidence that the shooting took place at the business. They said they could not determine why the shooting took place.
