7-year-old girl found safe

First-grader never met older sister after school

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 7-year-old girl who was reported missing Friday afternoon from Loretto Elementary School in Mandarin was found safe at her aunt's home hours later.

Anjelica Krang, a first-grader, was reported missing at 3:45 p.m. Police said they received a call from a relative just after 6 p.m. that the girl was at the relative's house.

A Duval County Public Schools spokeswoman said the girl was supposed to meet her older sister at the bike rack after school. The sister waited, and when Anjelica didn't appear, the sister went to the principal, the spokeswoman said.

Anjelica's bike was still in the rack.

Teachers at Loretto stayed after school to make calls to the girl's friends to see if there was a miscommunication, and police had about a half dozen officers searching and a helicopter in the air.
