2 arrested in Walmart purse snatching


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were arrested Monday in connection with a purse-snatching robbery at an East Arlington Walmart in December.

Police said a woman was in the parking lot at Kernan and Atlantic boulevards walking to her car just before 1 a.m. Dec. 16. when she was robbed.

Police said a woman wearing multi-colored hospital scrubs got out of a light blue Toyota Scion, snatched the purse from the woman and fled in the car driven by a man.

Investigators said that just prior to the robbery, the suspect tried to buy an item for an infant at Walmart, but her card was declined.

Police released descriptions of the man and woman Monday afternoon, and within 10 minutes of doing so, someone called police and identified the suspects.
