H&M to open at the Avenues
Shoppers excited for new store
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The world's second largest retailer, H&M, is opening a store in Jacksonville this summer.
The store will call the Avenues Mall home. The Simon owned mall is looking to bring shoppers back in droves to the once supreme center.
Channel 4 spoke with Simon marketing director, Dara Williams who said excitement is in the air for the new stores coming to the Avenues.
"It means a lot to us we are really excited, I think it's going to add to our great tenant mix and bring some extra traffic of course," said Williams.
Vans, Bare Escentuals and the women's and juniors store, Papaya, will also open soon, but the biggest draw is expected to be H&M. The Swedish chain is in 43 countries and sells the latest European trends for men, women and children at affordable prices.
"We're really excited, it's a great store, it's a national chain and I know we will probably have lines out the door as well as at our grand opening," said Williams.
"I drive all the way to Orlando, so I'm looking forward to having one in Jacksonville," said shopper Kim Toi.
Bare Escentuals opens in March, Papaya and Vans will open in late spring and H&M will open in late summer.
