Police charge Obrien man with stealing air conditioning units

Matthew Steven Thomas held on $180K bail


OBRIEN, Fla. – An Obrien man was charged with stealing air condition units.

Columbia County deputies arrested Matthew Steven Thomas on Friday.

Police said Thomas, 32, stole residential air conditioning units and sold them to metals recyclers.

Police said Thomas was caught dismantling a unit. He had stolen at least four.

Thomas is charged with four counts of grand theft, four counts of burglary, and dealing in stolen property.

His bond was set at $180,000.
