Dealer arrested in stolen property buy

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A Middleburg man was arrested Thursday following an undercover operation involving his business.

Gary Huskey, 45, considered a second-hand dealer specializing in collectable coins, gold, jewelry and weapons, is a convicted felon. He's accused of organized dealing in stolen property, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and failure to report and record a transaction by a second-hand dealer.

Deputies said Huskey knowingly bought stolen property and guns from an undercover detective at his business, Legacy Numismatics LLC, located in a strip mall near the intersection of County Road 220 and College Avenue.

A search warrant was executed Thursday at his business. Deputies said the transactions Tuesday and Thursday were recorded on video and audio.

This case involves a large number of seized items of value, deputies said. Detectives estimate the total value at about $200,000.

Deputies said additional charges are pending against Huskey, whose bail was set at $175,012.
