Gov. Scott signs Cecil Spaceport bill

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a bill into law that will help Cecil Airport compete as a commercial launch spaceport.

The measure will include Cecil Airport in Space Florida's master planning efforts and planned infrastructure improvements to allow Florida to compete for spaceflight business.

Cecil Airport is operated and owned by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. It is one of eight commercial spaceports in the U.S. and the only one in Florida.
