Early voting begins in Georgia

Fla. voter registration deadline approaches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Polls are now open in Georgia for early voting for the state's primary.

The actual primary day is July 31.

On the ballot in southeast Georgia will be a U.S. House race, state House and Senate races, local races, and a special transportation tax referendum.

Early voting will be open weekdays through July 27. There will be one weekend day of early voting on July 21.

Times and places vary from county to county, so voters should contact their local elections office to find out how they can vote.

Meanwhile, Florida voters still have a few more weeks until early voting starts for the August 14 primary, but the deadline to register to vote is coming up.

The deadline to register is July 16. The deadline to change a party affiliation is the same day.

Voters can change their address after the deadline.
