ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A teenager was killed in a single motorcycle accident in St. Augustine on Sunday.
The accident happened on Woodlawn Road in the Heritage Park subdivision about 4:40 p.m., said Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
Troopers said Mark Ochkie Jr. was going northbound on Hefferon Drive. He was rounding a curve when he went over the median and side swiped a palm tree.
Ochkie, 16, was taken to Flagler General, where he was pronounced dead. Troopers said he was wearing a helmet.
Sources told Channel 4 that Ochkie was the son of a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputy.
