Teen faces 35 years of prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 16-year-old pleaded guilty Monday to several charges in connection with a 2011 fatal car crash.

According to the state attorney's office, Zachary Lambert pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, aggravated fleeing and grand theft auto.

According to court documents, Lambert hit and killed Christopher Thompson near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road in November.

Prosecutors said Lambert was speeding as he tried to get away from a Jacksonville police officer. The truck he was driving was stolen.

Lambert will be sentenced in August. He faces up to 35 years in prison.
