JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 48-year-old Jacksonville woman was arrested in connection with a road rage shooting.

Lori Dale is charged with aggravated assault and shooting deadly missiles in the incident involving her husband and another man, police said.

Officers said the three were all traveling in separate vehicles heading west on Heckscher Drive when Dale's husband swerved into the eastbound lane and almost struck the other man's vehicle head on.

The man then followed the husband's vehicle and at some point passed it, police said. They said the man, the husband and a witness admitted that at some point the husband pointed a .45 caliber handgun at the man while their vehicles were parallel.

Police said the husband's vehicle then passed the man's, and while the man was trying to pass the husband's vehicle, he tried to flag down a woman in a car near them.

It turned out that the car he tried to flag down was that of Dale, the wife of the man who just pointed a gun at him, police said.

When the man's vehicle became parallel with Dale's, she fired one shot with a .38 caliber handgun with a red laser, which struck the man's vehicle in the passenger door, police said.

Police said Dale then fled the scene and went to a Gate gas station on Heckscher Drive, where she hid the gun behind a trash can. The gun was recovered there by police and Dale was arrested.
