Firefighters battle blaze at pump company

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fire broke out on the second floor of a large warehouse in the Lackawanna area on Friday afternoon.

Heavy flames were showing when firefighters arrived at Myers and Seth Pump Inc.'s 50,000-square-foot building in the 4600 block of Dignan Street just before 2 p.m.

It took them about 20-30 minutes to put the fire out. Extra firefighters were called because they needed to rotate crews due to the heat.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
