Woman victim of attempted purse snatching

PALM COAST, Fla. – Flagler County deputies responded to Pine Lakes Apartment complex on Pine Lakes Parkway late Saturday evening in response to a report of an attempted purse snatching.

The 33-year-old victim told deputies that she arrived home just before 11:30 p.m. She said that while she was still seated in her vehicle, a white man in his mid to late 20s walked up on her, grabbed her purse strap and demanded her purse, according to deputies.

The woman told deputies she tried to surrender the purse, but couldn't because the strapped was slung across her body.

The robber then began to punch her in the face three times, deputies said. The victim said she was able to get out of the car and the man ran off toward the brush line between the parking lot and Belle Terre Parkway.

The would-be robber was described as wearing a grayish hoodie and a green beanie-type hat. He had a slender build and heavy acne.

Anyone with information on the attempted robbery is asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office at 386-313-4911.
