According to police, the mother of one of the children said she left her house via the back door and returned about 10 to 15 minutes later. She then discovered the front door was open and the children were missing, police said.

The children, who are not related, were later found in the car, police said. It's not known if the children entered the car on their own.

A full-scale search involving K-9s and helicopters was canceled after the children were found.
