JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 46-year-old Jacksonville man was convicted Thursday evening in the October 2011 robbery at Advance America on Argyle Forest Boulevard on the Westside.

Ladon Green broke into the closed business by cutting out the bottom half of a door in the rear of the building. When a clerk arrived to open the business, Green was waiting for her in the back of the office.

Armed with a butcher knife, Green threatened the clerk to turn over cash and then forced her into a bathroom. The clerk was able to call the police after Green left.

Jacksonville police found blood on the door that Green climbed through, and the DNA matched Green.

Green is a habitual felony offender with convictions for possession of cocaine and burglary. He is also a prison release re-offender, having committed this crime within three years of being released from prison on the burglary conviction.

Green faces life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of March 11.
