Cops: Woman run over by bull in Deltona
Another woman injured after falling off horse at Cracker Day
DELTONA, Fla. – A woman was trampled by a bull on Saturday during the Cracker Day event in Volusia County.
Authorities said the woman had been run over by a bull that possibly had gored her in the left arm.
Kim Minot and her daughter Allyson were watching from the stands.
"The same bull came on back down and turned and looked at her and came right at her a second time," Minot told WKMG-TV.
Minot said the woman, along with about 30 others, jumped in the arena to play a game called "money grab," where the object is to snatch a ribbon tied to the bull's horn and win cash.
After trampling over the woman a second time, the bull was eventually captured and an ambulance rushed in to get the woman to the hospital.
Minot said as dangerous as this is, it's all part of the show.
"I was actually surprised at the amount of women out there, chasing the bulls," Minot said. "It's crazy but it's rodeo."
The woman was breathing and conscious after the incident, and had sustained a laceration to the arm. She was treated by paramedics on the scene while awaiting the arrival of an ambulance.
Police said about 8 minutes prior to the bull incident, a woman had fallen off of a horse at the same event.
