Semi flips; spills mounds of mulch on road

Buccaneer Trail back open, mulch mountain cleared

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – Police and emergency services used tractor trailers to clear mulch out of the roadways in Yulee after a semi truck crashed and flipped over early Monday morning.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office is investigating what caused the semi to flip, leaving a mountain of mulch that blocked The Buccaneer Trail at Nassau Place, just after the Amelia Concourse.

Police reopened all eastbound lanes of The Buccaneer Trail around 7 a.m. During the cleanup, drivers were detoured through the median onto the westbound lanes.

There has been no information released on the cause of the accident or if anyone was injured. A witness tells us another car may have been involved.

We have a crew on the scene and will bring you more information as we get it.
