FDLE: Lake City murder suspect may be in Pensacola
55-year-old store owner killed in robbery 13 months ago
LAKE CITY, Fla. – Thirteen months after a 55-year-old convenience store owner was shot and killed, the FDLE thinks a suspect in the murder may be in Florida's Panhandle.
Ernest Grandison, 43, is being sought in connection with the death of 55-year-old Rajni Patel on April 27, 2012.
Patel was killed that afternoon at the A&M Discount Beverage store in the 300 block of Southeast Duval Street.
His spouse, Daxa Patel, was present during the robbery but was not harmed.
Investigators were able to identify Grandison and a second suspect, James Johnson, from surveillance photos.
Johnson was arrested without incident in Jacksonville about a month after the fatal robbery.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Grandison's arrest on a charge of first-degree felony murder.
Law enforcement officials have not been able to locate Grandison, who is a habitual offender and considered violent.
A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for credible information leading to Grandison's arrest and prosecution.
If you have any information on this case, call the Lake City Police Department at 386-719-2068.
