Man in life-threatening condition after crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Traffic homicide detectives believe alcohol and speed may have been to blame for a head-on crash on the Westside Monday night.

Officer D.B. Edmonds with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a Ford Mustang headed westbound on Park Street, crossed the center-line and struck a van headed east.

Edmonds said the driver of the Mustang was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries.

Two people in the van suffered minor injuries and were speaking with police at the scene.

The crash happened at the intersection with Snug Harbour Lane in the Lakeshore neighborhood.
