Shot fired at man closing business

Suspect ran from Monaco Drive on Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man got into an argument with another man trying to close a business late Wednesday night on Monaco Drive on the Northside, then fired a gun.

The victim was a man in his late 40s and the suspect was in his early 20s, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

"An argument ensued in the front door as the victim tried to close the business. The suspect got into a verbal argument where he believed the victim thought that he was going to get attacked. He approached him and the suspect ran, then fired a shot in the direction of the victim," said Det. Eric Jones with JSO.

JSO believes another suspect was involved, but did not have information on that person. They're currently looking for the suspect(s) in this case.

Det. Jones said the store owner was armed but did not fire a shot.
