2 arrested after drugs, paraphernalia found near children
2 children removed from home
STARKE, Fla. – Police in Starke arrested a man and a woman and removed two children from their home after a search warrant resulted in the recovery of drugs and paraphernalia on Thursday.
Police executed a search warrant at the home of George Morris, 43, and Alexia Mack, 36, on South Thompson Street.
Through the course of the search, officers recovered hydrocodone tablets, baggies of marijuana, digital scales, a marijuana grinder and several other paraphernalia. Police also found four cellphones.
Two children, a 7-year-old girl and a 6-month-old girl, were both removed from the home and placed in care with relatives.
"I can't believe this. They were right on night stands and even found beneath a child's toy," Chief Jeff Johnson said.
Morris and Mack are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prescription medication without a prescription.
