BUNNELL, Fla. – Flagler County deputies arrested a Matanzas High School English teacher and track coach Saturday morning on charges he had sex with a 16?year?old student between 2010 and 2011.

James R. Wolfe, 31, of Flagler Beach, was arrested and charged him with seven counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Each of the charges is a second-degree felony.

The Sheriff's Office says the investigation began on August 14 after the victim told investigators that Wolfe had sexually assaulted her multiple times between August 2010 and May 2011.

At the time the incidents allegedly took place the victim was 16 years old and Wolfe was 28.

During an interview with investigators, the victim told investigators that on one occasion Wolfe had taken her to his residence, where he gave her with alcohol and an unknown narcotic that made her relax and took away the uneasiness of being in Wolfe's home.

In each of the incidents, the victim said that she felt compelled to engage in sexual acts with Wolfe because of his position as a teacher and coach.

"This man violated his position of authority as a teacher, coach and mentor of a young student and upon conviction should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. He should never be allowed to harm another child," said Sheriff James L. Manfre.

Wolfe was booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility where he is being held on $140,000 bond.
