FHP: Pick-up truck driver unable to avoid striking tree
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pick-up truck driver hit a tree that fell on Roosevelt Blvd. late Tuesday night.
The large oak tree fell due to natural causes and landed across Roosevelt Blvd., blocking all northbound lanes.
Minas Karangolian, 41, was driving northbound on Roosevelt Blvd. near Belvedere Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Karangolian was unable to slow enough to avoid striking the tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.
Karangolian sustained minor injuries. A passenger was not injured.
