Police say remains found result of killing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said the case of human remains were found Saturday in the woods near the intersection of Huron Street and West 12th Street in Edgewood is now being investigated as a homicide.

A company was working on a gas leak near railroad tracks and the woods when the remains were found, police said.

They said the victim had a gold tooth with the letter "H" on it. Police said it appears the victim may be a man due to clothing, but investigators will not know for sure until they get a confirmation from the Medical Examiner's Office.
