Shortly after 3 a.m. Sept. 15, deputies said, Boothby, armed with a gun, approached the counter and demanded money. He was wearing a mask and fled with a small amount of cash and cigarettes, deputies said.

Earlier Wednesday, someone was seen breaking into numerous vehicles at the Ponte Vedra High School parking lot. Deputies said that person was identified by school officials as Boothby.

Detectives then questioned Boothby and found the mask they said he wore in the robbery in his bedroom.

Deputies said they also recovered a BB gun they believe was used in the robbery in his vehicle.

In addition to at least eight car burglaries at the high school, Boothby is a suspect in four car burglaries on Clearwater Drive that were reported early Wednesday morning, as well as a burglary to Barbara Jeans Restaurant early Monday morning, deputies said.
