Police say he reported false abduction to harass woman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested Sunday after police say he called 911 to report an abduction, but he later admitted he made up the story.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Andra Maurice Griffin called 911, identified himself as Eric Wright, and said he was being held at gunpoint by a woman. He also provided a tag number, which JSO linked to an address on Elaine Road and sent officers.

During the ensuing investigation, police said they found Griffin had placed the call and provided the tag number, which belonged to a woman he had a dispute with.

Police then found Griffin, and Griffin admitted to making the call. He was arrested for making a false report to law enforcement about the commission of a crime.
