Ex-gym worker pleads no contest to video voyeurism
Man to be sentenced for using cellphone to record women in tanning booth
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A former World Gym employee and former Palatka police officer pleaded no contest Monday to two counts of video voyeurism.
Investigators said that earlier this year, Jerry Hackney placed his cellphone in a closet at the tanning salon at the gym on U.S. 1 South in St. Johns County to record people getting into and out of a tanning booth.
According to a police report, the first victim, a 25-year-old woman, found Hackney's cellphone at the tanning salon and gave it to investigators.
Detectives said they found nude images of her and a second woman on the phone.
Hackney will be sentenced Dec. 5.
