Man, 22, turns self in on lewd battery against teen

Clay County Sheriff's Office booking photo of Stephen Dyne from prior arrest

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old man wanted on a charge of lewd battery against a teen girl earlier this year turned himself in Tuesday, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Stephen Dyne eluded arrest last week, for which he now faces additional charges.

Deputies were called to the 1600 block of Rhonda Drive last Wednesday night and set up a perimeter around the house with K9 units.

Investigators said Dyne could be seen inside the home before running toward the back fence and jumping into a neighbor's yard. They said he ran back to the home to get some shoes, but his mom wouldn't give him any.

Deputies said Dyne fled through several back yards and got away.

The lewd battery warrant carries a $50,000 bond.

The Sheriff's Office said it credits media exposure with Dyne's inability to hide out any further in the community and thus turn himself in.
