Police: Man tried to abduct woman waiting for kids at bus stop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man tried to abduct a woman waiting for her children to be dropped off at a bus stop in Northwest Jacksonville on Friday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the woman in her mid-30s was waiting at the bus stop at 5500 Trout River Blvd. about 3:20 p.m. when the man drove up, got out of his car and assaulted her, then tried to drag her into the car.

Police said there were no witnesses.

They said the woman had scratches and other injuries.

The man is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s with a black or grey beard, heavy set and messy. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt, dark hat and dark boots.

The man's truck was described as a maroon Nissan pickup that had a decal with a black bra on the front and a license plate that begins with a Z.
