Man shot after altercation in East Arlington

Unknown person took victim home after shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man was shot in East Arlington after a verbal altercation with two men early Friday morning.

According to police, a black man was walking on 12000 McCormick Road near Monument Road around 2:30 a.m. Friday when he noticed two black men walking behind him.

There was a verbal altercation between them.

The victim told police there was a scuffle and one of the men pulled out a handgun.

As the victim began to run, he was shot once in the arm, according to JSO.

The victim told police the men ran to a silver car and observed two other unknown black men in the vehicle.

According to police, an unknown person took the victim to his home, where he was then transported to Memorial Hospital by his girlfriend and roommate. He is expected to be OK.
