JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are trying to determine if a man working on a roof fell from it or suffered a medical emergency before he died at a local hospital.
It happened Saturday afternoon at the home on N Silent Brook Trail.

Police said Richard Ahlers, 56, was working on a roof when the homeowner arrived to find Ahlers lying on the sidewalk directly under the roof line.
Jacksonville Fire-Rescue responded and took Ahlers to the hospital, where he later died.
Police said they are trying to determine if Ahlers fell from the roof because of some sort of accident or if he suffered a medical emergency.
