Commercial filming to cause downtown street closures

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A commercial for Chase Bank will be filmed in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art at 333 North Laura Street downtown from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday.

The project will cause intermittent closures on Laura Street from Church to Monroe streets from 2-6 p.m. Traffic will be halted temporarily and managed by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The production is not expected to close Duval Street or interfere with traffic outside of City Hall. The City Council agenda meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at City Hall. The council's meeting will begin at 5 p.m.

Street parking near MOCA, the Main Library and Hemming Plaza will be affected, as the production company has reserved and paid for meters on Laura Street from Church to Monroe streets.

The city's Office of Film and Television is working with the production company, which hired about 30 crew members and will have an estimated $100,000 direct economic impact on Jacksonville.
