Jacksonville firefighters' union treats kids for Christmas

Local firefighters hosted Santa for 40 disabled children at annual Christmas Party

Jacksonville, Florida – Nearly 40 kids afflicted with cerebral palsy and other disabilities got an early Christmas gift thanks to the city's firefighters.

The Jacksonville Association of Firefighters held its third annual Christmas party at it's union hall this afternoon.

Santa was among the guests of honor, providing a new bike for every child.

The bikes are customized to accommodate each child's special needs, and firefighters assembled all the bikes.

As one 9-year-old boy told Channel 4, the party and the present were both big surprises.

"It's pretty awesome!" the child exclaimed with a huge smile.
