Man shot in Northwest Jacksonville

Victim shot twice; treated at UF Health


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was searching for whomever shot a person in Northwest Jacksonville on Sunday night.

Officers responded to West 27th Street around 9:30 p.m. in reference to shots fired.

While they were investigating, they learned a victim walked into UF Health with gunshot wounds to the left chest and arm.  The victim's injuries are non life-threatening, according to UF Health personnel.

The victim said he was outside and heard gunshots, but did not see a suspect or suspects. 

The JSO Violent Crimes Task Force was notified and responded to conduct a follow-up investigation.
