Attorney: Winston's accuser to file civil suit against him

Alleged victim plans to sue Winston, Tallahassee police, possibly FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – An attorney for the woman who accused Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston of sexual assault says the woman plans to file civil suits against Winston, the Tallahassee Police Department and possibly Florida State University.

"I want heads to roll," Pat Carroll, the woman's attorney, told ABC News. "Absolutely you're going to see a civil suit. You can not have law enforcement that is not held accountable."

Carroll said the Tallahassee Police Department was negligent in the way it handled the case.

"The family is proceeding, with civil action against the TPD and Jameis Winston, and possibly the university," Carroll told ABC News.

Winston's accuser left school last semester and has been warned by Florida State not to return to protect her safety, Carroll said.

In December, Carroll asked for Florida's attorney general to independently examine the rape investigation, claiming it was riddled with problems.
