Deputies: Teen found passed out after burglaries

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old St. Johns County man was arrested on numerous charges last Thursday morning after being found passed out in the area of several burglaries, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Adam Bridges was charged with nine counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft, five counts of petit theft, four counts of criminal mischief, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis and possession of alcohol under 21.

The investigation began at 5:45 a.m. Thursday when a resident in the 200 block of Honeysuckle Way reported a burglary to his home and two cars. At the same time, another resident on the same road reported a burglary to a car.

During the investigation, deputies said they located Adam Bridges, the driver of a 2005 Hyundai Accent who was passed out in his vehicle while parked in the opposite direction of traffic. The deputy detected the odor of burnt cannabis as well as an open container inside the vehicle, investigators said.

Deputies said Bridges was awakened and questioned, then admitted to numerous burglaries in the area.

Bridges is charged with five burglaries in the 200 block of Honeysuckle Way and one in the 600 block of Hummingbird Court.

In addition, a search warrant was obtained for the suspect's vehicle, where detectives said they found several items of drug paraphernalia, a small amount of cannabis and multiple items of alcohol. Deputies said all of the stolen property was recovered.

Bridges remains in the St. Johns County jail with bail set at $105,000.
