Caught on camera: Texas officer plays football with young boy

Rosenberg officer noticed boy playing by himself in parking lot

ROSENBERG, Texas – When a Rosenberg police officer spotted a young boy tossing a ball around by himself in an apartment complex parking lot, he did something unexpected, and fortunately his dashcam was rolling so everyone could see his kind act.

The officer got out of his car and began to play catch with the boy. That simple act caught on camera is now gaining praise from thousands on social media.

Rosenberg police posted the video on its Facebook page Saturday with the message: "While a 2 minute game of football might not mean anything, to some it could mean everything!"

Rosenberg police has received national recognition for engaging the community so well on its Facebook page.

The game of catch is said to be another way the department is trying to connect with the young people in the city.
