JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The city might be in the dog house when it comes to Animal Control.
Jacksonville's chief of Animal Care and Protective Services, Scott Trebatoski, and the manger of the facility, John Page, are leaving at the end of the month.

They both accepted positions with Hillsborough County.
Animal activists in Jacksonville say this is a big loss for the city. They credit Trebatoski and his staff with big changes at the new shelter in the River City.
The city issued the following statement.
"The City of Jacksonville would like to thank Scott Trebatoski for his years of service as Chief of Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS). In addition, the City is thankful to John Page for his contributions as the Shelter Manager for ACPS. Under their leadership, the Jacksonville ACPS division has grown into a national leader in municipal animal services, recently receiving for the second year the Florida Animal Control Association's 'Outstanding Organization of the Year' award."
