Meth items found in Arlington neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police blocked off an Arlington neighborhood Monday afternoon after they found several miscellaneous items commonly associated with a meth lab.

Officers were called to 6700 Heidi Road, just north of Fort Caroline Road, about 4:30 p.m.  The scene was not far from Fort Caroline Elementary School.

Police said there was no apparent danger to the surrounding neighborhood, and there were no injuries or arrests.

Residents said they were surprised to see police activity there.

"Everybody's just so settled," resident Kathryn Kitchens said. "I've been here a couple years, and those that have rented have now seemed to go up for sale, so you don't ever see any other activity than that."

The road was blocked on Heidi between Rogero and Bess roads.  Police said they expected to investigate throughout the night.
