St. Johns County man arrested on grand theft, fraud charges

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A St. Johns County man was arrested Wednesday on five counts of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.

According to deputies, Mark Douglas Blanton, 37, who was operating a business called "Knock 46 Custom Cycles," had entered into contracts with at least five people between October 2012 and November 2013 to customize their motorcycles.

Blanton was allegedly paid between $20,000-$40,000 by the victims, who claimed they never received their motorcycles or money back.

Upon Blanton's arrest Wednesday, detectives obtained a warrant and searched a storage unit off U.S. 1, where they seized a large amount of motorcycle parts.

Investigations found victims from all over the U.S., Alberta, Canada and the Middle East.

Blanton's bonds total $50,000.
