2 teens, Good Samaritan killed in series of crashes

MIAMI – South Florida police say two teens involved in a car crash and a Good Samaritan who stopped to help them were killed when another vehicle plowed into them.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta says the teens' car collided with an SUV early Sunday in an intersection. The teens got out of their car, and they were joined by a man who stopped to help.

Zabaleta says a red Kia Forte then drove into the scene, hitting all three pedestrians and crashing into the SUV.

The teens and the Good Samaritan were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The drivers of the Kia and the SUV were taken to a hospital.

Zabaleta says investigators believe that speed and alcohol may be a factor in the crashes.
