Army recruiter arrested on sex charges, Clay County deputies say
Deputies: Julius Wright arrested on suspicion of having sex with minor at hotel
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old man who is a military recruiter was arrested Monday after allegedly having sex with a minor, Clay County deputies said.
Deputies said Julius Wright, 34, frequented Clay County High School and communicated with a student after and outside of school functions on several occasions from April 14-21.
The student sneaked out Saturday evening for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse, according to the arrest report.
Deputies said Wright picked up the student in his Jeep on Fleming Street near Highway 17 and took her to the Orange Park hotel where he had been residing since April 9.
Deputies made contact with Wright at his hotel room, and a consent to search was obtained.
Wright was charged with carnal intercourse with an unmarried person under 18. Wright was taken to the Clay County Jail by a deputy without incident.
In November, another Army recruiter was also arrested by the Clay County Sheriff's Office on sex charges. Authorities said Reginald Richardson and Wright did not work in the same office.
