Woman finds bird leg in bagged spinach
FDA says it plans to review Dole's bagging process
An Ohio woman says she's disgusted after finding a bird leg in her Dole bagged spinach.
The bag was unopened and on the counter when 28-year-old Rose Carducci noticed something odd.
"As I started looking some more I saw what looked like nails, like talons, and realized, 'Oh my gosh, this is part of a bird," she told Cleveland TV station WEWS.
Dole offered Carducci vouchers for spinach and other salad products, but she refused, saying she won't be "eating bagged lettuce or bagged spinach again."
The Food and Drug Administration said it planned to review Dole's bagging process.
