JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man is in critical condition after he was struck by two vehicles on Philips Highway early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers identified the victim as 45-year-old Adriatik Novaku.

They said the crash happened about 1:30 a.m. on Philips southbound, just south of Bowden Road.

Novaku was walking along Philips Highway in the southbound travel lanes when a Ford Mustang struck him, troopers said.

The car was driven by 22-year-old Zachary McReynolds, who had a 20-year-old passenger in the car with him, according to FHP.

Troopers closed all southbound lanes of Philips Highway at University Boulevard for several hours while they investigated. The highway reopened about 5:15 a.m.

FHP said charges may be filed pending the outcome of the investigation. There was no word if alcohol was involved in the crash.
