St. Augustine man shot; suspect arrested

Police: Men were arguing when one shot the other

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A man is in critical condition after being shot in the neck at the St. Francis house in St. Augustine Thursday night.

Officer Mark Samson with the St. Augustine Police Department told Channel 4 that two homeless men were arguing in an alley way on the St. Francis House property Thursday when one of the men shot the other in the neck. The incident happened at 7:19 p.m. Thursday.

Joseph Williams, the man who was shot, was transported in critical condition to UF Health Jacksonville.

The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Darrell Jones, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, among other charges.
