The names of the men are not known, nor is the condition of the man taken to the hospital.

Channel 4 Weather Authority Meteorologist Rebecca Barry said there was a moderate risk of rip currents today.

Emahiser also said strong winds made conditions ripe for rip currents.

"If you're caught in a rip current, swim parallel to shore and wave your arms early for help. Our guys are watching the water. If they see arms, that catches our attention," said Emahiser.

Ocean Rescue says anytime they have to go in the water for a rescue they treat it as a life-threatening situation.
