2 accused of selling drugs with child present

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A man and woman are accused of selling drugs from a St. Augustine motel room with a child present.

Tevin Thomas, 21, and Kandice Curley, 24, of Jacksonville, were arrested at about 6:40 a.m. at the Merida motel on North Ponce de Leon Boulevard.

Deputies said at least two drug purchases were conducted with the suspects over the last 30 days.

Both are charged with possession of cocaine, possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, maintaining a drug dwelling, child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were booked into the St. Johns County jail with bail set at $20,500.

Deputies said a young child belonging to Curley was removed by the Department of Children and Families.

The two suspects were out on bond following their arrests earlier this month on similar charges, deputies said.

On May 2, detectives served a search warrant at at 530 Colee St. for alleged unlawful sale of narcotics. They said they seized crack cocaine, marijuana and a stolen motorcycle.
