More than 100 hiring companies are expected to attend.

"I'm excited. You have CSX hiring, Bank of America, Walmart, Winn-Dixie," Mayor Alvin Brown said. "A lot of companies are looking to hire people. We want to make sure they're ready. So come on out and let's make sure you get that job."

During the event, there will be a series of workshops to help job seekers with a range of topics, including interview skills, resume preparation, social media, dressing for success and more.

"I think you have to be ready, you have to be prepared, you have to be focused, you have to sell yourself, because competition is stiff," the mayor said. "I think if you're prepared, do your homework, know about the company, talk about what values you can add, your assets, how you can make sure you help the bottom line, your interpersonal skills. I think just being prepared and ready to go, people will be looking for that."

Those planning to attend are expected to bring copies of their resumes and dress in business attire.

"You're going to make an impression," the mayor said. "You want to make a good first impression. I think you have to be prepared when you interface with someone you're trying to become a team member with."
