Study: Florida among 10 most corrupt states

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A new study from Indiana University and the University of Hong Kong says Florida is in the top 10 for most corrupt states.

The study suggests that state corruption is costing Floridians more than $1,300 per year. Government watchdog group Integrity Florida says the Legislature could fix the problems if they wanted to.

"The solution is stronger ethics programs, more training, more disclosure," said Dan Krassner, executive director of Integrity Florida. "Corruption does not like sunshine, and disclosure's the key to accountability."

The study took into account decades of corruption law violations.

Oregon came in as the least corrupt state.
